Nigeria is the largest shea butter producer in the world with annual production of 360,000mt and Niger State has 70% share of the shea butter produced in Nigeria by region. On the backdrop of this JIL has its own Shea Tree Parkland located in Niger State, with an estimated 100,000 wild shea trees. We have setup the first shea post harvesting and processing centre in Bida, Niger State that can produce 1000tn a year in view of scaling up further to 10,000tn in the near future. We take great steps to protect our staff especially the most vulnerable in the shea value trade. We do this by abiding to Nigerian labour laws that encompasses minimum wage, welfare and worker's safety.

For our rice farms in Niger State, we use quality seeds, fertilizers, and inputs to produce high quality rice. We constantly and diligently look out to eliminate weeds and protect our rice using new techniques and technologies from birds during the harvest period to produce high yields . We have investedin mechanised equipmentlike tractors, threshers and weeders to mechanize our rice farm thereby enhancing our overall performance. We aim to expand into the rice milling and processing business in the near future.

We aim to be the largest regional palm producer, our palm tenera seeds are purchased from Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR) and they produce up to 25tn per hectare when fully matured. We are constantly expanding our farm as we foresee the demand in Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to continue to outstrip supply.

Nigerians CPO consumption was 1.6mmt in 2018 while production was 0.9 million tonnes. This leaves n annual gap of 0.7 million tonnes to fill. JIL intends to utilise its vast farm land to set up a world class agro processing regional oil palm facility in the very near future.
